Hello,
I am Kate Eldridge and I have recently taken over The Bead Cellar after the retirement of the previous owners.
I have moved down to beautiful Devon from London and am very excited about everything that this new chapter in my life has to offer.
I
have been designing and making beaded jewellery for over 8 years, and what started out as a hobby gradually progressed into making pieces for friends as gifts and then some of those friends started telling me I should be selling items.
I love making jewellery using all kinds of beads, from all corners of the globe and you will see a simplistic elegance in my work, with just a touch of drama on occasion! Most of my work would be classed as bead weaving but I also enjoy wirework and dabble in lampwork.
I now sell items and take commissions through my personal website
www.beadedjewellerybykate.com.
After completing my Masters degree and working in travel for a number of years both in the UK and overseas I found my hobby becoming increasingly important to me
to the point that I started thinking about making a career and lifestyle change to start working for myself in the crafts retail sector.
Upon seeing an advert for the Bead Cellar in a periodical I had one of those life changing ‘well, I’ll give them a call and see what it’s all about...’ moments which lead to me owning and running The Bead Cellar in Devon.
The plan for 2010 is to pick up the reins of the existing business to keep everything that you, the existing customers, like about The Bead Cellar going,
including the current stock lines and workshops.
We are specialists in Japanese seed beads manufactured by TOHO and also currently stock a range of other beads including vintage nailheads, Swarovski crystals and pearls, Czech glass beads and a range of metal findings.
We
aim is to provide quality products and excellent customer service at the best possible prices.
The full range of products is included in the menus to the left and if you are looking for something specific then please use the search facilities or contact us and ask.
I have plans to gradually extend the range of products that we sell and also the range of classes on offer and events that we attend, and I will keep you all up to date on developments via email and postal newsletters – so make sure you sign up if you would like to receive either!
I would also love to hear ideas and suggestions that you may have for products, classes, projects or anything else that you would like to see us do.
Please feel free to drop me an email at
kate@thebeadcellar.co.uk
or give me a call on 01409 231 442 with any requests – or just to say hello!
I am really looking forward to meeting customers old and new in the coming months and if you are ever in the area please do drop into the shop for a cuppa, a chat and some inspiration!
Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous 2010,
Kate
